Hydrogenated castor oil is a substance obtained from castor oil by hydrogenation. Castor oil is a natural vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the castor plant. After hydrogenation, the unsaturated fatty acids in castor oil are converted to saturated fatty acids, thus making the oil more stable, solid and improving its resistance to oxidation. It is white to light yellow powder, lumps or flakes, slightly soluble in dichloromethane, very slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water.
Hydrogenated castor oil is generally used as an oil phase base in cosmetics. Ordinary vegetable oil is easy to oxidize, rancidity affect the long-term stability of the final product.
Hydrogenated castor oil is not easy to oxidize, rancidity, its oil properties with the increase in storage time does not change significantly. Therefore, the need to use vegetable oil or liquid paraffin products can be used in hydrogenated castor oil, because hydrogenated castor oil is a waxy solid, melting consistency is larger, you can significantly reduce the amount of grease or oil phase, and the paste is more polished, delicate.

Creams and lotions: Hydrogenated castor oil is commonly used as a thickener and emollient in creams and lotions to thicken these products.
Lipsticks: Hydrogenated castor oil can be used in the preparation of lipsticks and lip glosses. It can be used as an auxiliary molding agent to help the product mold better.
Suggest usage: 1-20%
